EVERGREEN BAPTIST CHURCH
Outreach
Through many areas at Evergreen Baptist Church, there is an opportunity for Missions and Community involvement. There are many organizations throughout Frankfort and Franklin County that various groups at Evergreen assist during the year. Below is a list of some of these organizations.
Evergreen has been involved for many years with Missions. The Lula VanMeter WMU group participates in many mission oriented projects. A few years ago the Youth traveled to West Liberty to assist in tornado clean-up and most recently they have traveled to Harlan County for mission work in assisting needy children by helping collect and deliver clothing. Also, several adults and youth have made numerous trips to Haiti over the past several years assisting in building an orphanage, directing back yard bible studies and assisting in refining a healthy water purifying system. More trips to Haiti have been scheduled in the near future. Most recently a family traveled to the Dominican Republic and another family will be traveling this summer to Thialand.

EBC Food Pantry

Franklin County
Soup Kitchen
Once a month Evergreen members volunteer at the ACCESS Franklin County Soup Kitchen. The church provides the food, and volunteers take the food to the Soup Kitchen, prepares it, and then serves it hot to anyone coming in to eat. The Soup Kitchen provides meals to the indigent in the community, no questions asked, and also provides emergency temporary shelter for men all year long.

I'm another title
Evergreen’s Food Pantry distributes food to those within our church and community who have difficulty purchasing enough food to avoid hunger for themselves and their family. With budget cuts and loss of jobs, the church receives numerous requests for food assistance. Assistance is also provided for members of our church or the community in applying to the Resource Office of Social Ministries (ROSM) for assistance with such items as rent, utilities, medical bills, or other assistance that may be necessary.
